Spanning the Periodic Table: Select examples of stable isotope target fabrication at Oak Ridge National Laboratory

This paper reviews select examples of recent targets produced by the group, including 171Yb wires, 62Ni pellets, and 25Mg foils. The targets discussed will cover the processes and equipment used for stable isotope manufacturing at ORNL and give a broader understanding of thin film preparation techniques, preparation of high-purity and specialty materials, and development of highly material-conservative methods.
