About EPJ

The European Physical Journal (EPJ) is a series of peer-reviewed journals indexed in all major citation databases, and covering the whole spectrum of pure and applied physics, including related interdisciplinary subjects. EPJ carries on the tradition begun by European physics publications in the 20^th century and aims to offer to the international scientific community a unified platform for the global dissemination of physics and related sciences.

The editorial boards of the EPJ journals consist of distinguished scholars from around the globe who are committed to the highest standards of scientific quality. The boards administer the peer-review process and are responsible for the editorial policies of the journals.

EPJ also includes EPJ Web of Conferences, an Open Access service dedicated to archiving conference proceedings, making them citable and offering maximum flexibility in size and format.

EPJ is a merger and continuation of Acta Physica Hungarica, Anales de Fisica, Czechoslovak Journal of Physics, Fizika A, Il Nuovo Cimento, Journal de Physique, Portugaliae Physica and Zeitschrift für Physik.

25 European Physical Societies are represented in EPJ through the Scientific Advisory Committee, a board that advises the publishers and Editors on editorial and policy matters.

In its drive toward disseminating research in the physical sciences as widely as possible, EPJ gives authors the opportunity to publish in Open Access in both traditional 'hybrid' journals and in a new suite of fully Open Access journals.

EPJ and EPL - Europhysics Letters maintain a cooperation in the form of an editorial transfer agreement. This mechanism allows the transfer of submissions between journals according to considerations of format and scope, provided the author agrees to such transfer.

The publishers of EPJ are EDP Sciences, the Società Italiana di Fisica and Springer.
