Recent CMS Experiment results on conventional spectroscopy and production of heavy flavour states in pp collisions at 13 TeV are reported, including the first observation of the $${\Xi _{\rm{b}}^ - \to (2{\rm{S}}){\Xi ^ - }} $$ decay. We discuss the measured properties of the ground and excited hadron states.
