In this study, the lifetime of the 2+1 state of 206Po was measured by means of the Recoil Distance Doppler Shift method. The determined B(E2; 2+1 → 0+1) value shows that the 2+1 state of 206Po is of collective nature. The results were compared with shell-model calculations based on two different effective interactions.
