Early fault diagnosis of rotating machines plays a crucial role in preventive maintenance, this lead to protect machine from failure and increase its availability. Rotating machines, from turbines to motors, performs indispensable function in many operational sectors. Nevertheless, their continuous activity causes their exposition to mechanical breakdowns. Hence, unplanned downtime resulting from machinery failure can contribute to financial damages and production postponements. Corrective maintenance is no longer sufficient and do not satisfy modern industries requirements anymore. For this reason, the study of recent approaches that focus on the diagnosis of a given signal is considered very important, it helps to overcome the defects by preventing them. Therefore, this paper reviews and summarizes the researches that have been worked in this domain, particularly, the diagnosis methods of rotating machines by analyzing the instantaneous angular speed.
