EPJ Web of Conferences Highlight – 10th EPS-QEOD Europhoton Conference on Solid-State, Fibre, and Waveguide Coherent Light Sources

The 10th EPS-QEOD Europhoton conference took place in Hannover, from August 28th to September 2nd, 2022. Host was the Leibniz University and the Cluster of Excellence PhoenixD. The Volkswagen Foundation generously sponsored the event.
With great pleasure, the European laser and optics community came together again in one place after the long pandemic downtime and enjoyed the interaction in the beautiful Herrenhausen Palace. The meeting was intentionally not planned as a hybrid conference, and in fact, all 80 presentations took place on-site.

The IRAM conference “Multi-line Diagnostics of the Interstellar Medium” took place in Nice (France), from April 4-6, 2022.
Different aspects of the millimeter and submillimeter astronomy were tackled, from the chemical complexity of the interstellar medium in the local and early Universe, to the environment of stars in the earliest stages of formation but also the physical and chemical evolution of galaxies over cosmic time.

EOS Annual Meeting EOSAM brought together photonics experts. The European Optical Society Annual Meeting, EOSAM, took place onsite in Porto from 12th to 16th September 2022.
EOSAM is a major international scientific conference covering all aspects of optics and photonics. It is attended by top researchers, key leaders, students, and industry experts.
As an integral conference in the field in Europe, EOSAM has always provided a valuable opportunity for presenting and discussing work, stimulating contact between colleagues, from young researchers to seasoned experts. EOSAM is where research meets industry and education.

The 8th edition of the Complexity-Disorder meeting took place in Paris, France, organized by the Physics Department of Paris City University, on the 4th and 5th October 2021.
This 8th Complexity-disorder meeting provided an open forum for researchers of all disciplines working in the wide field of complex matters.

The 1st edition of the Applied Nuclear Physics conference took place as a hybrid event in Prague, Czech Republic, organised by Nuclear Physics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences, from 12th to 17th September 2021.
The European Physical Society (EPS) introduced the new Applied Nuclear Physics Conference promoted by the Nuclear Physics Division (NPD) of EPS.
EPJ Web of Conferences Highlight - vConf21: A Virtual Tribute to Quark Confinement and the Hadron Spectrum

Drawing on the state-of-the-art in remote conferencing and amended by a rich outreach program, this virtual event was organized as substitute for the postponed 14th Confinement conference by the Institute for Mathematics and Physics at the University of Stavanger, Norway, between August 2-6 2021.
The Confinement conference series was inaugurated in 1994 and has since become an important forum for scientists working on strong interactions, stimulating exchange among theorists and experimentalists, as well as across adjacent fields.

EPJ Web of Conferences Highlight - mm Universe @ NIKA2 - Observing the mm Universe with the NIKA2 camera

The mm Universe conference is the second edition in a series of biennial workshops.
This international conference is mainly dedicated to the scientific exploitation of the NIKA2 camera installed at the 30-m telescope of IRAM located in Pico Veleta (Spain). The conference focused on scientific topics such as the environmental impact on dust properties, the star formation processes at low and high redshifts, the evolution of large-scale structures and the use of galaxy clusters for precision cosmology.
EPJ Web of Conferences welcomes Paulo Limão-Vieira in its Editorial Board

EPJ Web of Conferences is glad to announce that Paulo Limão-Vieira has joined the Web of Conferences editorial board with particular responsibility for EPJ Web of Conferences.
Paulo Limão-Vieira is a Professor of Molecular Physics at NOVA School of Science, and full researcher at Centre of Physics and Technological Research, CEFITEC, also in Lisbon. At CEFITEC he founded in 2004 the Atomic and Molecular Collisions Laboratory where his research focuses on electron transfer processes in atom-molecule collisions and electron scattering from polyatomic molecules. He has developed a unique crossed molecular beam experiment and led several research grants training post-docs and allowing different generations of students to obtain their PhD degrees. Currently he is member of several international scientific and steering committees and has served from 2019-2021 as chair of the Electron International Advisory Committee for Electron, Molecule and Swarms (EMS).
EPJ Web of Conferences Highlight – HINPw6 2021: Nuclear Physics from Fundamentals to Applications

The 6th workshop of the Hellenic Institute of Nuclear Physics (HINP) took place as a special virtual event, co-organized by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the University of Ioannina on 14-16 May 2021.
The nuclear physics laboratories of these institutions and of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki are founding members of HINP, which is a virtual institute with non-profitable character.
